  1. To me the value of learning is that no matter what your position in life, that every person should have the oppertunity to learn. My role of a learner is to do everything that I can to successful in the future. Also to help everyone that I can, also to be successful.

  2. One thing that strikes me about the facts presented is how the internet is putting teamwork on a global scale. For example, how using Twitter, Barack Obama raised more than two times the money that John McCain raised for campaigns. This makes me think of the world as more powerful as a whole, using social networking sites, than it is separate. It could impact me by giving me the power to use social networks for a large task that I couldn't do on my own. I think the value of learning is that it gives us the knowledge to solve problems we encounter. Having knowledge allows us to accomplish more than if we didn't. "Knowledge is power". My role as a learner is to be open minded and ask a lot of questions. My role is also to use what I learn the best I can.

  3. Something that struck me about the 4.0 video was how old ways of advertising have steeply gone down and digital advertising has gone up. This makes sense, but I think that magazines and books are important. I feel like these changes are good and bad, if we are only looking on digital devices for news and important information the people who are writes and journalists will loose there jobs'. The value of learning is discovering how and where the knowledge we acquire will take us. My job as a learner is to be open to new ways of learning and thinking, and to apply those ways in my life.

  4. What really got me was that 34 babies are born every eight seconds, to me this means that the human population is growing, but at the same time people are passing away at a rapid pace too. Also it was the number of text messages sent around the U.S. in a certain period of time. Also the number of time people spend on computers or watching TV. To me this is a sighn of the growth of technology in our world and that these numbers will be way up ten years from now. There is and will continue be a lot of technology use around the world so I will stay up with technology through out my years as a student and adult!

  5. After watching the "Did You Know 4.0?" video i was suprised to find out that 2,000,000 TV's in the U.S. are in people's bath rooms and that more video was uploaded into youtube in the last two months than if ABC NBC and CBS had been airing new content every second all year since 1948. This video makes me feel isignificant and small compared to the world. It also makes me want to aspire to greater heights to make a name for myself. Learning is valuable because it allows you, as a learner, aquire the skills needed to be sucsessful in an important career. my role as a learner is to help finely tune the learning instruments for future generations.

  6. I think that the value of learning is that not everybody can get an education, so whoever can get an education needs to treasure the opportunity. We are very fortunate in our country to be able to obtain an education. And I think that my role as a learner is to work hard during school and take advantage of the great education that I am recieving so that when I am looking for a job, I can get one easier because I will have a good education and be a well rounded person.

  7. After watching Mr. Fisch's "Did You Know?" powerpoint it really makes you think about things. I really began to think about what a big part of our day to day lives technology has become. I also began to think about where would we be today if we didn't have any of that technology. Seeing that 34 babies are born every eight seconds made me think about how small I am in this big world and what little part I play. Then I thought how I could be a bigger part of the world if I tried. Because this powerpoint began at our school and it exploded into something that's now known around the world. And I believe that learning is an incredibly valueable thing because not everyone has the access to a good education like we do and we tend take it for granite when we should be grateful for what we have. My role as a learner is to the make the best learning experience for myself possible. That includes getting help when I need it and actively participating in class.

  8. The value of learning as is very important in the world today. Most everything reqires a education. learning is a privlage and we should not take it for granted.

Are role as a learner is to be focused and pay attention during class. We will have time do other things when we are outside of class but when we are at class we should focus.

  9. After watching the "Did You Know?" presentations, I noticed that all things digital have greatly increased in the past years, digital advertising, texting, email, etc. I also thought it was a bit scary that so many TVs were in bathrooms.
I think my place in the world, at least now, is to learn all I can, and apply the technology given to me as a valuable resource to learn with.

  10. After watching the "Did You Know?" video's I was suprised about a lot of the information in the video's. I think that I am one of those people in the 4.0 version because I love all the technology I own. I believe learning is a skill everyone needs because just about every job you are ever going to have is going to require you to have learned english and just about any other main subject such as math, science, and/or history. My role as a learner in high school and everywhere is to learn, learn, and learn even more for present and future learners.

  11. Something that striked me in the "Did You Know?" powerpoint was that the amount of text messages sent total has exceeded the world population. The fact that we have grown tech wise in the last 20 years blows me away. This impacts the way I communicate to my friends, family, and people around the world. This makes me think about how far our world has come from wagons to cars to cell phones. Our generation has become a tech savvy world and very complicated. Who knows where we will be in the next 10 years? The value of learning exceeds the value of making a scarf per say because to make the scarf, you must know how to learn to make the scarf. As a learner, my role is to acquire as much knowledge as I can so I can survive a career and lifestyle.

  12. The "Did You Know?" video was amazing! One of the most ineresting facts that occured to me was that in about 2049, one $1000 laptop would exceed the commputing capabilities of the whole human race. This prediction made me feel lucky to be part of this huge technological advancement. Learning. There are many ups and downs in learning. One value of learning is that the more that you learn, the further you will get in life. As a learner, it is my responsibility to accept the knowledge and to remember it by studying, testing myself, or however I find works best for me.

  13. After watching Mr. Fisch's world-renown "Did you Know" powerpoint, some of the things that really got my attention was how we rely on modern technology, much more then we realize. This really makes me think how lucky we are to live in a place where technologic advantages happen so often. I think that learning is a priceless privilege which we are lucky to have. Our role as a learner is to take in every bit of knowledge we can.

  14. After watching Mr. Fisch's "Did you Know" video, I was amazed by how much technology has grow in the past few years. I was also surprised when it said 34 babies are born every eight seconds, and for every 1 in the US there will be 5 born in India. I also find it interesting that China will eventually become the number one English speaking country. This video makes me think of how this world is changing and what we can do now that past generations couldn't. It is amazing how quickly technology is developed and spread. The value of learning to me is incredibly important as knowledge will only get me further in life. My role as a learner is that I should take advantage of every learning opportunity, and try my best.

  15. After we viewed Mr. Fisch's "Did You Know?" video, what stood out most was how reliant we are becoming on technology. In the video it says that 1 in 8 married couples met online. That shows in my opinion that soon enough meeting offline is becoming more and more scarce. The value of learning is when you learn, you have that much more information to help you suceed. My role as a learner is to use the knowledge I gain and share my abilities.

  16. Mr. Ficsh's power point shows you that the world is evolving and advancing with technology. I think it is amazing that 230,000 people sign up for MySpace everyday and use it as a new way to communicate in our world. A statement that Mr.Ficsh made fascinated me, “We are currently preparing students for jobs... that don't exist... in order to solve problems we don't even know are problems yet." This made me wonder about the job I will have and how these new jobs will affect the world and my life in the future. The problems we are going to have may be larger than we can imagine and may take years of studying to fix; so why not start to study now?

Learning should be greatly valued and cherished because it is how we advance and extend our thinking as we progress though life. My role as a learner is to succeed and learn about new ideas and technologies so I can use them in the future and teach new generations.

  17. Mr. Ficsh's "Did You Know?" power point really got me to ponder some things, and to also think about what is happening in the world around us and not just in our lives. For example, in 8 seconds 34 babies will be born; that makes me think how many people they're are around us. And just thinking that we will have 10 to 14 jobs by were 38. This shows we do need to prepare ourselves for the future by learning how to be successful by the time we need to have jobs; meaning we all have to start learning now. The value of learning not only helps us to succeed but also helps us have something that others might not have the opportunity to have. My role as a learner is to focus on my needs and make sure I have enough information to succeed in life.

  18. What striked me the most about the powerpoint was how much I didn't know about the tecknowledgy we have now a days.It makes me think of what a day an age where we have tecknowledgy at our finger tips almost all the time. This impacts me because my family and I use tecknowldgy almost. The value of learning is to get a good job or go through life secssesfully. The role of learning is so that I can get a good job or a good high pay job to get through life secssesfully.

  19. The "Did You Know?" power point really surprised me. It made me realize how fast our world is changing, and how incredibly important technology is. It makes me wonder if we are ready for the technology and how to keep up with this change. Most of all, Mr. Ficsh's power point made me feel really small. It made me feel like I'm just one person is this huge world. But also, it made me feel fortunate for the many resources that we have available to us, and that we have the tools and knowledge to make a difference. I think knowledge is vital to not only getting through school but success in life. It sounds cliche, but after watching the power points, knowledge is power. My role as a learner is to be a well prepared part of society and being and becoming my absolute best. Which, according to Mr. Fisch, means knowing as much as possible.

  20. The "Did You Know?" power point really supprised me i did not know that americans have access to 1 trillion web pages, 93% of adults have cell phones, and in 8 seconds 34 babys will be born. This video just makes me realize that that our world is changing really quickly.

  21. Mr. Fisch's videos were really interesting. All of the facts were very surprising. In "Did you know? 2.0" I found it cool that China is the number one English speaking country in the world. This really surprised me. In the second video, I found it really interesting that there are 2.7 billion Google searches every day. That just shows how much humans rely on the internet everyday, which really makes a big impact.

    1. The value of learning isn't just being prepared for college, but being able to share your learning with other people, and having the tools you need to get you by with everyday tasks.
2.My role as a learner is a kid who never got good grades, but is trying his hardest to do his best in education.

  22. After watching "Did You Know?" I was astounded that in 8 seconds 34 babies were born, and that by 2049 the average computer will exceed the computing capabilities of the human race! I think that it is oh so very important that we start learning in the 21st century. Learning to be a "21st century learner" will be a need in todays society. We need to be ale to train for jobs that havent yet happened. We need to fix the problems that havent occured. If we learn these skills we can be sucessful in the market place and in life. My role as a learner is to help prepare the next generation for what we are doing now.

  24. One thing that strike me was that in 8 seconds 34 babies are born that sounds like the population of the world is way more populated every day.
The values of learning are to get further in like so you wont get stuck in a bad job like a fast food resturant.
my role of a learner is to sucseed in life.
